Greenheck Everest Transition (GET) Academy
The Greenheck Everest Transition (GET) Program was established in 2020 in the Wausau, WI area as a partnership between the Greenheck Group, Northern Valley Industries (NVI), and DC Everest (DCE) School District. The goal is to provide on-site work experience for a select group of special education students at DCE, helping them prepare for the transition from the school system to the working world.
Greenheck selected and developed 5-6 jobs within their facilities, each focusing on a specific set of work skills in the manufacturing setting, including inventory, basic maintenance, loading and unloading, assembly, and more. NVI provides job coaching and support for students as they work at Greenheck, as well as life skills lessons and assistance in setting up long-term supports.
